Potential and limitations of NARX for defect detection in guided wave signals

چکیده

Previously, a nonlinear autoregressive network with exogenous input (NARX) demonstrated an excellent performance, far outperforming established method in optimal baseline subtraction, for defect detection guided wave signals. The principle is to train NARX on defect-free signals obtain filter that predicts the next point from previous points signal. trained then applied new measurement and output subtracted reveal presence of responses. However, as shown this paper, performance implementation lacks robustness; it highly dependent initialisation sometimes improves worsens over course training. It due only making predictions one ahead. Subsequently, multi-step prediction using newly proposed structure creates more robust training procedure, by enhancing correlation between loss metric performance. physical significance explored, allowing simple hyperparameter tuning strategy be used determining structure. overall also improved prediction, responses at different times well data sensor pairs, revealing generalisability method.

extremal region detection guided by maxima of gradient magnitude

a problem of computer vision applications is to detect regions of interest under dif- ferent imaging conditions. the state-of-the-art maximally stable extremal regions (mser) detects affine covariant regions by applying all possible thresholds on the input image, and through three main steps including: 1) making a component tree of extremal regions’ evolution (enumeration), 2) obtaining region ...

investigation of single-user and multi-user detection methods in mc-cdma systems and comparison of their performances

Ultrasonic guided waves reflection from simple dent in pipe for defect rate estimation and parameters determination of axisymmetric wave generation source

In this paper, the reflection of ultrasonic guided waves from simple dent in pipes has been investigated using finite element method and the relationship between reflection coefficient of these waves and deformation rate has been determined. Also, the effect of the parameters of wave generation source on the generated wave field has been investigated using normal modes expansion method. At firs...

ChinaContact defect detection in plates using guided wave and vibro-acoustic modulation

In this paper, guided wave health monitoring in plate structure for detection of nonlinear contact scatter is conduct using vibration modulation technique. By time-frequency analysis of modulated guided wave series, the nonlinear responses at frequency of vibration are extracted out and used for defect imaging. It is shown that the nonlinear guided wave imaging method based on vibration modulat...
